Lady Bucs Cap Off 10th Straight Undefeated Run in ACCC Play

Mobile- The Shelton State Lady Bucs completed their 10^th consecutive undefeated season in ACCC play with a 74-58 a win over Bishop State on Thursday.

The Lady Bucs end the regular season at 27-3 and ranked 6^th in the nation. The victory ran the Lady Bucs consecutive conference win total to 214 games.

A slow start for both teams led a 12-7 Lady Buc lead after the 1^st ten minutes. Janiyah Bone scored 5 of the 12. The second quarter saw the offense for both teams pick up steam as the Lady Bucs outscored the Lady Wildcats 19-18 carrying a 31-25 lead into the break.

The Lady Bucs took control down the stretch leading by as much as 19 and hitting 7 of 10 free throws in the 4^th quarter.

Julie Nekolna had a rather quiet 1^st before exploding for 17 in the second half and 13 in the 4^th quarter alone, she would finish the game with 23 points. Makala Hobdy added 10 points in the final 20 minutes bringing her total to 16 for the game while pulling down 8 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists. Lameria Thomas pulled down 15 rebounds, her 7^th time pulling down double digit boards in the last 8 games.

The Lady Bucs await their draw in the ACCC Tournament at the University of Alabama-Huntsville on March 6-8.
