Bio

Now in her seventh year, Cara Crosslin currently serves as Athletic Director for all Shelton State Community College (SSCC) sports programs and cheer. 

Originally from Tuscumbia, Alabama, Cara is a graduate of The University of Alabama (UA) with a bachelor’s degree in human performance and a master’s degree in educational leadership. While a student at UA, Cara was a member of the Women’s Basketball program from 1993 until 1997 and played on the 1994 Final Four team.

Prior to her arrival at SSCC, Cara was a coach and athletic director at Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama.  She was inducted into the Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2013 and in the Muscle Shoals High School Hall of Fame Class of 2019. In 2020, she was named the Alabama Community College Conference Athletic Director of the Year.  

Cara currently serves as the assistant women’s director for NJCAA region 22 and is a committee member for NJCAA Division I women’s basketball and women’s DII golf. Additionally, she is a Certified Master Athletic Administrator through NIAAA. Cara’s experience and leadership skills make her an invaluable asset to all aspects of SSCC Athletics.
