Bucs Ranked in All Six JuCo Baseball Polls
TUSCALOOSA - The Shelton State Community College baseball team is ranked in all six preseason junior college baseball polls.
The Bucs were ranked fifth in NJCAA poll released last week.
Since then, Shelton State has been ranked in five more preseason polls.
Shelton State is ranked No. 5 in the first-ever junior college baseball poll by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
The Bucs are ranked No. 6 in the 2-Year Baseball and No. 8 in Perfect Game preseason polls.
The Bucs are also ranked No. 16 by the Junior College Baseball Blog (JBB), and No. 20 by Dream Big Athletics.
Shelton State plays one of the nation's most difficult schedules with seven opponents ranked in the various polls.
The NCBWA and JBB polls have six opponents inside the Top 25.
NW Florida State (12), Gulf Coast State (20), and San Jacinto (21) made the inaugural NCBWA poll.
Pearl River (1), East Central (3), and Bishop State (20) are ranked in the NCBWA Division II poll.
NW Florida State (13), Gulf Coast Stare (24), and San Jacinto (25) are ranked in the JBB Division I poll.
East Central (4), Jones (11), and Bishop State (20) made the JBB Division II rankings.
Dream Big Athletics had five opponents in its rankings.
NW Florida State (5), Gulf Coast (10), Pensacola (30), and San Jacinto (36) were ranked among the Dream Big Athletics Top 40 teams.
East Central (8) and Jones (20) were ranked in the DBA Division II poll.
Four opponents made the NJCAA and Perfect Game rankings.preseason rankings.
NW Florida State (5), Gulf Coast (15), East Central (20), and San Jacinto (31) are all ranked by Perfect Game.
San Jacinto (18) and Gulf Coast (19) were ranked in the NJCAA Division I poll, while East Central (3) and Jones (14) made the Division II rankings.
San Jacinto (14) and Gulf Coast (18) were ranked by 2-Year Baseball.
Shelton State posted a 48-14 record last season. The 48 wins are the second-most in program history.
The Bucs have played in the NJCAA World Series four of the last five years, including three straight from 2023-25.
The Bucs have also won four of the last five ACCC championships, including the last three in a row.
Shelton State opens the 2026 season on Thursday, Feb. 5 at Marion Military Institute.
The home opener is Saturday, Feb. 7 doubleheader with Marion Military Institute.
