Baseball Posts Two Walk-Off Wins

TUSCALOOSA - The Shelton State Community College baseball team has three walk-off wins this season.
Snead State was the victim in all three games.
Two of those came on Saturday as the No. 22 Bucs ran their winning streak to 11 consecutive games.
Sophomore second baseman James Graphos delivered an RBI double to give the Bucs a 4-3 walk-off win in game one.
Freshman pinch-hitter Jarret Scott scored on a wild pitch to give the Bucs an improbable 9-8 win in the nightcap.
Shelton State scored four runs in the final two innings to erase a three-run deficit.
The Bucs also had an 8-7 walk-off win over Parsons on Feb. 20 in Panama City.
Shelton State (32-10, 21-3 ACCC) is 25-3 in its last 28 games, including a season-high 11-game winning streak.
The Bucs have also won 13 straight home games, including all 10 ACCC games.
Shelton State leads second-place Southern Union by six games in the conference standings.
Freshman shortstop Griffin Rardin finished the weekend 10-for-16 (.625) with seven runs scored, four doubles, one home run and nine RBIs.
Graphos was 8-for-21 (.381) with six runs scored, five doubles and six RBIs. He recorded his 100th career hit in Thursday's doubleheader.
The Bucs trailed 8-7 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning before scoring two runs against three different Parsons pitchers.
Sophomore catcher Grant Browning drew a lead off walk against Tripp Fletcher.
Fletcher was replaced by Mason Busch, who hit Scott on a 2-0 count.
Luke Lively took over on the mound and allowed a bunt single to freshman centerfielder Cody Kropp to load the bases with no outs.
Freshman second baseman Ellis Hamiter hit a shallow pop up to center field to score pinch-runner John Robicheaux from third base. Hamiter was forced out at second base for the first out.
With sophomore Jackson Henderson at the plate, Lively uncorked a wild pitch and Scott scored the winning run from third base.
Sophomore right hander Kenneth Diddell (4-1) worked two scoreless innings for the win.
Busch (3-4) suffered his second blown save and second loss of the day.
Shelton State closed the gap to 8-7 with a pair of runs in the eighth inning on RBI singles by freshman left fielder Owen Anchors and Rardin.
Snead State stretched its lead to 8-5 in the sixth on a RBI triple by Drew Puccio and an RBI ground out by Caid Finn.
The Bucs scored single runs in the first two innings to grab a 2-0 lead. Rardin had an RBI single in the first and sophomore Landon Ingram drove in a run in the second with a sacrifice bunt
The Parsons took a 3-2 lead in the third on RBI doubles by Forrest Heacock and Brooks Parkerson.
Rardin blasted a solo home run to tie the game at 3-3 in the third. Anchors broke the tie with a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
Blaze Gerhart's three-run home run gave the Parsons a 6-4 lead in the fifth.
Kropp had a RBI single in the bottom of the frame to close the gap to 6-5.
Shelton State rallied from a 3-2 deficit to post a 4-3 walk-off win in game one.
In the seventh, Anchors reached on a one-out single to left and scored on Graphos' second double of the game.
The Bucs tied the game in the sixth inning when Rardin laced a one-out double and scored on freshman Wyatt Howell's two-out pinch-hit single.
Howell was 0-for-7 as a pinch-hitter prior to his game-tying single.
Sophomore lefty Corbin Hamric (3-1) worked 2 1/3 innings in relief for the win.
Busch took the loss.
Snead State (21-18, 13-11) scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead.
Heacock and Gerhart had RBI singled in the inning.
Shelton State scored two runs in the first inning to take a quick 2-0 lead.
Graphos had an RBI double and Rardin delivered an RBI single.
The Bucs will host Central Alabama on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Bucs return to ACCC play on Thursday, April 16 when they host Coastal Alabama South in a 2 p.m. double header.
