EUNICE, La. - No. 16 ranked Shelton State Community College baseball team dropped a 19-5 game at No. 6 LSU Eunice on Friday night at Bengal Stadium.
The Bucs won the opener 14-6.
The decisive game three will be played Saturday at 2 p.m. The winner will advance the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. The JuCo World Series begins Saturday, May 24.
LSU Eunice hit four home runs in Friday's win. Tyler Mkitchell hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Aidan Mouton and Mitchell Lougue both hit 2-run home runs in the third inning. Jake Smith added a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
The Bengals scored in six of the nine innings.
Lane Fenske (15-0) worked seven innings for the win
Freshman Tanner Hermesch (3-1) suffered his first loss.
Shelton State (46-15) scored five runs over the final three innings to gain some momentum for Saturday's finale.
Freshman catcher Aiden Carrizales put the Bucs on the board with a two-run double in the seventh.
The Bucs got three runs in the ninth. Carrizales hit a solo home run, freshman Mac Graham ripped an RBI triple to center, and freshman Ellis Hamiter had an RBI single.
