MILLBROOK - The Shelton State Community College women's flag football team dropped two games to Calhoun Community College and Snead State on Sunday afternoon.
Shelton State (6-4) suffered a 9-6 loss in game one to Calhoun and fell 13-0 to Snead State in game two.
"Our offense struggled all day with turnovers, penalties and poor field position," head coach Doug Rogers said. "We just couldn't get out of our own way."
Calhoun took a 7-0 lead before the Bucs scored their only touchdown of the game - a 30-yard run by freshman quarterback Jayci Sullivan (Northside HS). The extra point was no good leaving the score 7-6.
The Warhawks added a late safety for the 9-6 win.
Snead State scored two first quarter touchdowns and held on for a 13-0 win over the Lady Bucs.
"Our defense made plays all day," Rogers said. "In the second game, they stood tall after allowing the two first quarter touchdowns."
Freshmen Sevyn Walker, Shilah Borden and Shabreia Brannon anchored the Bucs defense.
Shelton State will play its only home games of the season next Sunday, Oct. 26 when the Lady Bucs host Bishop State and LB Wallace.
