Bio

Anthony, who also serves as an assistant men's basketball coach for the Bucs, is among the top player development coaches in the southeast. Anthony has worked with numerous high-level players such Collin Sexton, Jared Harper, JD Davidson, Sean East, Gage Mayfield, Simeon Cottle, Brittany Davis, Jasmine Walker, Mark Sears, Adrian Wooley, Keshawn Murphy, Travis Daniels, Emmanuel Terry, Jamel King, Javian Davis, Jaykwon Walton, Deja Church, and many more!

Marcus returns to Tuscaloosa after previously serving as a men's basketball assistant coach for the Bucs from 2018-2022. Anthony was a part of one of the most dominant runs in ACCC history. The Bucs won 4 consecutive ACCC championships while securing back-to-back NJCAA National Tournament Sweet 16 appearances in 2021 and 2022.

After the departure of Coach Joe Eatmon, Anthony spent a year as an assistant coach for both the boys' and girls' basketball programs at his alma mater, Paul W. Bryant High School. The Stampede boys made it to the AHSAA Class 6A Final Four. 

Anthony would then go on to serve as a Graduate Assistant on coach Antoine Pettway's inaugural staff at Kennesaw State University. Anthony was primarily responsible for player development. During his time at Kennesaw, freshman guard Adrian Wooley, who Anthony also developed while at Bryant high school, was named C-USA Freshman of the Year after averaging 18.8 points per game while shooting 51.2% from the field and 42.2% from beyond the arc before transferring to the University of Louisville for this upcoming season.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Anthony played point guard for the Bucs from 2015- 2017 winning an ACCC championship before signing with Blue Mountain College. 

A native of Tuscaloosa County and a graduate of Paul W. Bryant High School, Anthony holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Stillman College. Anthony is married to Victoria Anthony, and they have two children, Maverick (5) and Maddix (8 months).
