Bucs Take Home 9th Place Finish in Titan Invitational
The Shelton State Men's Golf Team started the spring season in decent fashion, finishing 9th out of 14 teams at the Titan Winter Invitational in Melbourne, FL. They were 5th among 11 district teams in the event.
Bryce Ballard led the way with a 225 (+9), finishing 24th. Wyatt McDonald posted 234 (+18, 42), Jackson Hill 237 (+21, 45), Lane Brewer 237 (+21, 45), and Michael Brewer 239 (+23, 50).
"We had a fog delay each morning which I thought the team handled pretty well. The first round was a bit rusty for the first tournament in two months as well as a couple of weeks of below freezing weather, causing practice to be put on hold. It still wasn't a bad round. The team played well in round 2 and for about 10 holes of round 3. Then it just seemed to nosedive. Instead of being in the 290's, we fell to well to almost our first-round score. It was a start, but we just have to be more consistent, and finish rounds off. Hopefully, we will see that in Brewton." Coach Chris Sanford
The next tournament is at Juniper Creek Golf Club in Brewton, AL on February 24-25.
