Men’s Golf Captures LBW Invitational
GREENVILLE - The No. 9 ranked Shelton State Community College men's golf team took home top honors at the LB Wallace Invitational at the RTJ Golf Trail at Cambrian Ridge in Greenville.
The Bucs shot a two-day total 749 (+29) and finished three shots ahead of No. 22 Wallace State-Dothan (+32) to capture its third tournament of year and second this spring.
I'm very proud of the team for coming back and getting their second win of the spring and third win overall," head coach Chris Sanford said. "They stayed within themselves and kept getting around the course without the big numbers that hurt us yesterday.
"It was really cool to win the spring tournament after winning here in the fall."
The Bucs posted the first tournament win since the program was reinstated in 2022 here in Greenville in October.
Freshman Reid Larson was the low medalist with a two-day total of 146 (+2).
Larson carded a 73 on Monday, which included an eagle on hole No. 7 and three birdies. He made three birdies on Tuesday and finished with a 73.

It was good to have Reid Larson win low medalist, for his second win in three tournaments," Sanford said.
