BAY MINETTE - Sophomore third baseman Ty Williams belted three home runs, leading the Shelton State Community College softball team to a pair of wins over Coastal Alabama South.
Williams hit a solo home run in the 3-2 win in game one, and added two homers in the 13-12 win in game two.
For the day, Williams went 4-for-5 with five runs scored, three homers and four RBIs.
The Lady Bucs improved to 8-3 in one-run games this season, including six wins in ACCC play.
Shelton State has now won six games in the final at-bat.
Sophomore right hander Mackenzie Harper went the distance in the circle for the win. She allowed one earned run on four hits with 11 strikeouts.
Williams solo home run in the second inning gave the Lady Bucs a 1-0 lead.
Coastal South tied the game with an unearned run in the bottom of the inning.
Sophomore catcher Ragan Landrum put the Lady Bucs back on top with an RBI double in the fourth inning.
The Coyotes tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth on Lottinger's RBI double.
Sophomore Jamie Hocutt delivered a pinch-hit RBI double in the sixth inning to give the Lady Bucs the 3-2 win.
Shelton State scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on fir a 12-11 win in the nightcap.
The Lady Bucs overcame three deficits in the game for the comeback win.
Shelton State (24-12, 12-6 ACCC) moved into sole possession of third place in the league standings.
Coastal Alabama South (22-17, 9-9 ACCC) led 9-5 entering the final innjng.
Freshman pinch-hitter Lilly Vold drew a leadoff walk and Hocutt ripped a double to center to put runners on the corners.
Sophomore centerfielder Layla Bradshaw followed with an RBI single to make it 9-6.
After a groundout, freshman right fielder Marleigh McWilliams delivered a sacrifice fly to close the gap to 9-7.
Sophomore first basemen Chloe Mitchell walked to load the bases and freshman left fielder Laila Watkins followed with an RBI single to make it 9-8.
Williams drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 9-9, and Landrum drew another walk to put the Lady Bucs up 10-9.
Freshman shortstop Gradin Hass added an RBI single and Hocutt reached on an error to push the lead to 12-9.
The Coyotes scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and had the winning run on base when the game ended.
Freshman right hander Karlie Beth Beasley picked up the win despite giving up 11 runs and 13 hits.
Williams hit a two-run home run in the third inning to tie the game at 3-3.
She added her third homer of the day with a solo shot in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-5.
The Lady Bucs made three errors which led to a pair of three-run innings and a 9-5 deficit.
McWilliams finished 3-for-3 with one run score and two RBIs.
Watkins was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Hass added two hits and one RBI.
The series moves to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, April 18 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
