ALABASTER - The Shelton State Community College softball suffered a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Calhoun in the ACCC Tournament on Friday.
The Bucs (31-22) end the season with the loss.
The game was a pitcher's duel between sophomore Mackenzie Harper and Calhoun's Addi Wilson.
Harper (10-11) allowed one and four hits en route to her 16th complete game. She added seven strikeouts and walked two.
Wilson (18-11) tossed a complete game shutout. She held the Bucs to six hits.
Emily Burgreen's solo home run in the fifth inning was the game's only run.
Freshman Laila Watkins had two hits to lead the Bucs offense.
