Three-Peat; Women’s Golf Wins Third Straight ACCC Championship

BREWTON - The top-ranked Shelton State Community College women's golf team posted a lopsided win to capture the 2026 ACCC Championship at Juniper Creek Golf Course.
Shelton State shot a two-day total of 607 to win by 23 strokes over second place and No. 5 ranked Jefferson State (630, +54).
No. 4 Wallace State Hanceville (650), No. 6 Southern Union (660), and No. 8 Snead State (687) round out the Top 5.
The Lady Bucs shot 305 (+17) on Monday and 302 (+14) on Tuesday.
The +14 round on Tuesday was the best single-round of the year, while the 607 total was the lowest tournament total of the year.
"I'm very proud of the team for their play this week and happy for them they won the Conference Championship," head coach Chris Sanford said. "They knew they had to play well in the final round, only being up six shots, and they battled and shot a better score than round one."
In addition to the team championship, Shelton State piled up several individual awards.
Freshman Emma Bark was named the ACCC Player of the Year.
Freshman Katie Brannon, sophomore Katie Hallmark, freshman Riley Fritz (Cape Coral, Fla.), and sophomore Sawyer Hobbs were named All-ACCC.
Shelton State's top four scorers all finished in the Top 8. The top six scorers finished in the Top 12, all seven golfers finished in the Top 26.
Brannon shot a 3-over 147 to finish second place overall.
Brannon finished one-under 71 on Monday, including at 3-under 33 on the front nine. She shot 76 on Tuesday.
Bark and Hallmark tied for fourth place with a plus-eight 152.
Bark shot 78 in the first round and improved her score by four shots (74) on Tuesday.
Hallmark started with a 2-under 34 on the front nine on Monday. She finished with a 75. Hallmark shot 77 in the final round.
Fritz carded a 13-over 157 to finish eighth. After shooting 82 on Monday, she rebounded with a 75 in the final round. Fritz had an eagle on the par 5 6th hole on Tuesday.
Freshman Addison Davis, playing as an individual, finished ninth with a plus-16 (160). She shot 78 in the first round and 80 in the second round.
Hobbs carded at +17 (261) to finish 12th. She opened Tuesday's round with a 2-under 34. She finished with an 80. She shot 81 on Monday.
Freshman Kelsey Mason finished +32 (176) to finish 26th. She shot 89 and 87.
Bark, Brannon and Hallmark were named the ACCC All-Tournament team.
"It was a really good pressure atmosphere that will help us at the district tournament next week," Sanford added. "We still can be better if we clean up some putting and a few big numbers. It was a great start to the three championship tournaments in a row."
The NJCAA Division II South District championship will be held April 22-23 at Cider Ridge Golf Course in Oxford, Ala.
