Bucs Rout East Central
DECATUR, Miss. - The Shelton State Community College men's basketball team posted a 93-75 blowout win over East Central Community College on Thursday night.
Shelton State (13-3) hit the 90-point mark for the fourth time this season.
Sophomore Marchello Perkins (Paul Bryant HS), sophomore Bryant Ajero (Missouri City, Texas) and freshman Rodwick Jackson (Headland) carried the offensive load for the Bucs.
The trio combined for 43 points on 18-of-26 (.692) shooting.
Perkins led the way with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including five 3-point baskets.
He has made 10 3-pointers over his last two games for 36 total points.
Ajero and Jackson both scored 12 points in 11-of-11 shooting. Ajero made all six shots and Jackson made all five shots.
Ajero is 9-for-10 from the floor in his last three games.
Shelton State was 32-of-62 (.516) from the field in the win over ECCC. The Bucs were 20-for-29 (.769) on 2-point shots and 13- for-33 (.393) on 3-pointers.
The Bucs have made 28 3-pointers in the last two games.
Freshman TJ Pruitt (Huntsville) finished with 12 points and made three 3-pointers.
Sophomore DJ Hamlett (Hillcrest) scored 11 points, all in the second half. He made two three-pointers.
Sophomore Shah Hall (Hillcrest HS) was the force inside with eight points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
Shelton State opens ACCC play on Thursday, Jan. 15 at Lawson State.
