Bucs Close Regular Season with Dominant Win
BAY MINNETTE - The Shelton State Community College men's basketball team led from wire-to-wire for the second straight game in a 100-71 blowout win over Coastal Alabama South on Thursday night at Jack Robertson Arena.
Shelton State (24-6, 11-3 ACCC) will be the No.1 seed at next week's ACCC Tournament in Talladega. The official bracket is expected to be released on Friday.
Freshmen King Larkin topped the 20-point mark on Thursday night. Larkin poured in 24 points (10-for-16 FG) and seven rebounds. He also made four, three-pointers.
Freshman TJ Prewitt, freshman Rod Jackson and sophomore Bryant Aijero all scored double digits for the Bucs.
Prewitt had 19 points (5-9 FG; 7-8 FT), including two, three-pointers. Jackson scored 10 points on a perfect night from the floor (5-for-5). He also added six rebounds. Aijeo finished with 11 points.
The Bucs shot 51.4 percent (38-for-74) from the floor against the Coyotes. Shelton State was 27-for-46 (58.7 percent) on two-point field goals and 11-of-29 (37.9 percent) on three-point shots.
Shelton State topped the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season. The Bucs scored 111 points and 100 points in the two wins over Coastal Alabama South this season.
Coastal Alabama South (8-21, 3-11 ACCC) saw its season come to an end on Thursday.
