No. 11 Lady Bucs Win Sixth Straight
AMERICUS, Ga. - The No. 11 ranked Shelton State Community College women's basketball team extended its winning streak to six games with a 77-56 win over St. Petersburg College.
After a 15-day layoff, the Lady Bucs are playing three games in three days at the Lady Jets Holiday Classic hosted by South Georgia Tech.
Shelton State (11-2) had four players ok double figures in Monday's win over the Lady Titans.
Sophomore Alana Obianozie (Madison) and freshmen Aryah Grace (Meridian, Miss.), Nadia Norfleet (Tupelo, Miss.), and Ella Wheeler (Sulligent) all reached double figures.
Obianozie led the way with 15 points, her eighth double digit game of the year. She made 5-of-8 field goal attempts, including one three-pointer.
Grace recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She hit 5-of-9 field goal attempts for her ninth double figure game.
Norfleet added 12 points, five steals and four assists.
Wheeler scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers. She only had 15 points and three triples in her previous four games.
Shelton State turned a one possession game into a double digit lead late in the first quarter when Norfleet and Wheeler (2) hit back-to-back-to-back threes.
The Lady Bucs held its largest lead at 31 points in the third quarter.
Shelton State will face No. 2 ranked and undefeated Chipola College on Tuesday at 3 p.m. (CT). Shelton Stare defeated Chipola 61-60 in the 2025 NJCAA Elite Eight.
