LAKE CHARLES, La. - The No. 3 seed Shelton State Community College women's basketball team saw its season come to an end in a 49-30 loss to No. 6 Trinity Valley in the Elite Eight of the NJCAA Women's Division I National Tournament.
The Lady Bucs finish the season with a 30-4 record, the ACCC regular season and ACCC Tournament championship.
Shelton State shot only 15.9 percent (11-for-69) against a stifling defense. The Lady Bucs made only one of 18 three-point attempts.
Shelton State is winless in seven NJCAA Tournament games against Trinity Valley.
Sophomore Alana Obianozie scored 14 points in her final game for the Lady Bucs. She made 5-of-12 shots and added three rebounds and three steals.
Trinity Valley (31-3), winners of 11 straight, advances to Monday's semifinals.
Trinity Valley's Malaya Jones led all scorers with 20 points. She made 9-of-19 field goal attempts.
Saliz Ward pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
